$10M Prize by Everglades Foundation seeks P-removal innovations

On July 21st, the Everglades Foundation will officially open applications to the George Barley Water Prize to catalyze the development of a globally adaptable, reliable, green, and cost-effective process or technology to remove phosphorus from freshwater bodies. The winner will be awarded $10 million in no-strings-attached funding.

We would love for your research group/organization to be involved or apply. If interested, please sign up at http://www.barleyprize.com/ to learn more. When the competition officially launches next month, we’ll contact you directly regarding next steps.

For questions about the Prize in the meantime, please reach out to my colleague Ernie Hayhurst at ernie@goverb.com (putting me in cc: celinevaneeckhaute@gmail.com). Moreover, if you know any other individuals, organizations, universities, or companies/technologies that may be interested in applying, or if you are willing to post an announce in your newsletter, actua and/or on your website, please don’t hesitate to contact us for further discussion.

On behalf of the environment, we look forward to receiving your application!
